On Friday, October 13, our Design 1 class was invited to a lecture by prominent New York based-artist, Saya Woolfalk, in which she discussed her process behind creating her pieces and the steps that eventually led her to become a professional artist whose work was displayed in New York City's Times Square. I personally found Saya's lecture to be immensely informative and detailed in displaying the many sources of inspiration one can draw from in the journey of becoming an American-based independent artist, as well as what types of opportunities can present themselves to you along the way.
